Christopher James O’Toole has been a member of the Florida Bar and practicing attorney since 1997. He began his legal career as an intern with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office while still in college. While only a college student, he was authorized by the prosecutor’s office to resolve misdemeanor and traffic cases on his own.
During law school, Mr. O’Toole decided to experience a different type of law and became a law clerk for a prestigious personal injury law firm in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. O’Toole worked for two years handling all aspects of the law firm’s personal injury cases and working closely with the law partners.
After graduating in the top of his class from law school, Mr. O’Toole decided that he needed real courtroom and trial experience. In 1997, he applied and became a prosecutor in the Broward County State Attorney’s Office. During his career as a prosecutor, Mr. O’Toole was quickly promoted from a misdemeanor prosecutor to a felony prosecutor. He learned to try complex cases ranging from DUI to Manslaughter.
It is during this time that Mr. O’Toole found his niche as a trial lawyer. Mr. O’Toole tried over 100 cases as a prosecutor in front of a jury on his own. At one point, he had won 20 consecutive trials in a row. Moreover, Mr. O’Toole was recognized by his colleagues, defense attorneys, and judges as an outstanding trial attorney.
After leaving the prosecutor’s office in the year 2000, Mr. O’Toole rejoined the personal injury law firm he worked for as law clerk. By the time he rejoined this law firm, Mr. O’Toole had significant jury trial experience and was rehired to become the main litigation attorney for the prestigious Boca Raton law firm.
Back then, Mr. O’Toole quickly gained a reputation as an excellent civil trial lawyer and recovered tens of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts on behalf of his clients. More importantly, he was not intimidated to go after some of the biggest corporations and powerful insurance companies to fight for his clients.
In 2001, after realizing that he could not attend to his clients’ needs as much as he would like, Mr.O’Toole decided to open his own law firm. His main goal was to provide his clients with personal attention and full service. Mr. O’Toole was the managing partner for the firm of Alamo & O’Toole, P.A. for 12 years. During this time, Mr. O’Toole represented thousands of clients and collected over $50,000,000.00 on behalf of his clients.
In 2013, Mr. O’Toole decided to open a smaller, more personal law firm with a clear objective: get the most money for each client and provide personal service to each client. Although the firm is smaller, it still packs a punch.
